Stage and Curtains 2026.
Acrylic on canvas
200cm x 300cm
Stage and Curtains is a large-scale acrylic painting that depicts a theatrical curtain while functioning as the object it represents. Suspended from a curtain pole, the work collapses the boundary between image and object, painting and stage. Drawing on the theatrical metaphor of performance and concealment, the curtain becomes a symbolic threshold between the visible and the hidden, inviting viewers to consider what lies beyond appearances. Through this ambiguity, the work explores themes of illusion, psychological space, and the relationship between external reality and the inner world.
